Let's talk about water studies in Jefferson County. The county's own water expert, Dr. Mark Kozar, stated this past July 15 at the Water Advisory Committee that the last groundwater availability and quality study were done in the 1980s. He knows because he has 40 years experience with hydrology in Jefferson County. The county needs a new comprehensive groundwater availability study. I will lead with fiscal responsibility. The current County Commission is spending money from their savings. And why? They have to pay for two new buildings and poor choices. People work hard for what they have. We owe it to Jefferson Countians to use their money wisely, and to provide the services people need to maintain a good quality of life.
